Health Insurance Exchanges and the Impact of the Affordable Care Act on Michigan:  Marianne Udow-Phillips, Director, University of Michigan Center for Healthcare Research and Transformation / Washtenaw Health Initiative– Michigan Governor Rick Snyder has indicated the state will move forward with the creation of health insurance exchanges.  Individuals and companies would be able to purchase health care insurance through a statewide exchange.  The question remains who will run it; the state or the federal government?  That all depends on the Michigan legislature.

Main Street Area Association – Ann Arbor Family Opening New Downtown Restaurant:  Maura Thomson, MSAA Executive Director; Alan Wang, Owner, Kuroshio –  The corner of Ann Arbor’s East Liberty and South Fourth Avenue has been home to the popular Pretzel Bell restaurant and most recently Champion House, whose owners vacated abruptly.  Now thanks to an Ann Arbor family the spot gets a new lease on life as an “Asian experimental” restaurant.
