Charity at the Big House:  David Brandon, Athletic Director, University of Michigan - The University of Michigan is implementing a set of standards  when it comes to partnering with charitable events.  As a result, the popular Big House, Big Heart race managed by the for-profit Champions for Charity no longer qualifies to utilize Michigan Stadium for its annual event.  UM AD Dave Brandon explains what’s behind the move and what this means for other non-profit endeavors in the future.  He also weighs in on the Big 10 expansion and the success of the Michigan basketball program.

- An independent national group has named the University of Michigan Health System among the safest and highest-quality hospitals in the United States.  Only 66 other hospitals earned the Top Hospitals designation from the Leapfrog Group, a national leader in evaluating hospital care based on a wide range of criteria.

Saline Area Chamber of Commerce:  – Art Trapp, Chamber Executive Director; Mark Bulick, Co-Owner, Maplewood Lanes Updated lanes and a family atmosphere make Saline’s Maplewood Lanes a popular destination.  It opened in 1980 and is co-owned by a trio of proprietors, who are now seeing a renewed interest in bowling, especially with teenagers.

Manchester Area Chamber of Commerce:  MOM to MOM Sale – Sarah Andrews, Manchester Co-op Preschool –  If you are in need of children’s items, who better to turn to than a mom?  Mothers will be getting together this weekend to sell gently-used clothes and toys, and there is still space for you to sell your own items.   To get involved with this event, email manchestercooppreschool@yahoo.com.  Table prices start at $20.  The MOM to MOM Sale is Sat., December 8, 8 AM-12 PM at Manchester H.S.
