Dr. Ora PescovitzThe Impact of Medicaid Expansion on Michigan’s Health Care – Dr. Ora Pescovitz, CEO, University of Michigan Health System – When the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the Affordable Care Act  – or Obamacare – is constitutional, it also ruled that states could reject the Medicaid expansion portion of the bill.  That has set-up a showdown of epic proportions here in Michigan, where Governor Snyder is urging lawmakers to pass the expansion but the Michigan Senate has so far not taken a vote.  The situation could be resolved this summer, as Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville has called a work group together this week to consider the bill. What happens if Michigan rejects the expanded Medicaid provision of the Affordable Care Act?

Milan Area Chamber of Commerce: Milan Incredible 5K – Sue Collins, Fitness Coordinator, Say Yes Fitness / Manager, The Milan Eagle – Each Monday in July we will take a look at the events leading up to the Milan Summer Fest, which is August 2-3.  The Milan Incredible 5K takes place on August 3 at Milan Free Methodist Church in Milan.  Proceeds will go to Milan Relay for Life to help the fights against cancer.
