Writer Grace Shackman, author of “Birth of the Cube Farm” in the June 2014 edition of the Ann Arbor Observer, speaks with Damian Farrell and Lucy Ann Lance about the inventor Bob Propst. Propst live in Ann Arbor, MI where he was president of the Herman Miller Research Corporation. He designed the Action Office furniture system, which reshaped the American office by providing a semi-private space to work in. Herman is still a leader in office furniture design, and the Action Office system is still in production 50 years later!

October 27, 2012:  Damian On Design: The Allmendinger Park Mural – John Kotarski, Ann Arbor Public Art Commission, Mary Thiefels, Artist/Illustrator, Tree Town Murals; Damian Farrell, Architect/Owner, Damian Farrell Design Group – Scores of neighborhood residents contributed to a new mosaic designed by local artist Mary Thiefels.  Called “Nourishing Healthy Seeds”, the mural will be dedicated Sunday, October 28 from 2-4 PM at Ann Arbor’s Allmendinger Park.  It is the first in a series of murals to be commissioned by the Ann Arbor Public Art Commission.

About Damian Farrell:
A graduate of the University of Natal, Durban in South Africa, Damian began his career in Natal before relocating to Ann Arbor in 1987, where he established the Damian Farrell Design Group after a six year internship. After selling his firm and an interim period of working in both a large and mid-sized architecture firm, Damian restarted Damian Farrell Design Group, PLLC. in July, 2008.
