miketindall_702July 2, 2014: Michael Tindall, Chairman – He started folding boxes at the Manchester Chicken Broil at age 8. Now Michael Tindall is serving as chairman of this longtime community event. This summer marks the 61st annual Manchester Chicken Broil, where they expect to sell 11,000 chicken dinners. The annual Manchester Chicken Broil will be held Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Alumni Memorial Field in beautiful Manchester, Michigan, just 20 miles southwest of Ann Arbor. This long-time civic event is the largest event of its kind, with net proceeds benefiting public school, community park, library and local civic causes in the Manchester area. This year there is a new way to enjoy the Chicken Broil, a Drive-Through carryout service. This complements the traditional Eat-In and Carryout lines. The Drive-Through entrance will be on Duncan Street from Hibbard Street, with volunteers to guide motorists and sell dinner tickets.

Locally, one of those grants was an instant $10,000 to aid the victims of the Dexter tornado.
