August 25, 2012: Around the Home: BRAG Ann Arbor Foundation presents The Festive Affair, a fundraiser for The Staples Family Center –Ken Staples, President/CEO, Staples Building Company; Maureen Sloan, CEO, BRAG Ann Arbor; Matt Miller, Event Chair/Reinhart Realtors  – Ann Arbor builder Ken Staples survived polio, raising four children as a single dad,  and the death of his daughter who was killed by a drunk driver. But when you meet Ken, you notice that while all of that has been part of his life experience, none of that has kept him from living life, a life of serving others.  He is a remarkable man, who along with his wife Marianna, were the inspiration behind the Staples Family Center, a 35-bed emergency homeless shelter operated by The Salvation Army of Washtenaw County.
