Back this year are the popular demolition derby events and tractor pulls, as well as a wide selection of livestock judging, crafts, exhibits and exhibitors, midway games and rides. January 29, 2013:  Chelsea Area Chamber of CommerceChelsea House Victorian Inn - Jim Myles, Owner/Innkeeper, Chelsea House Victorian Inn Jim and his wife, Kim, purchased what was then a five unit rental property in downtown Chelsea in 1994. The home was originally built in 1881 for James Gorman, a lawyer and tobacconist who later became a state representative and finally state senator.  Jim refinished much of the intricate interior and exterior detailing hinself.  This Queen Ann Victorian inn is now a full service Bed and Breakfast with period decorated rooms, an intimate Carriage House suite, a large gathering space, and fine hospitality. October 23, 2012:  Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce:  Lifetime Achievement Citizen of the Year  – Bob Pierce, Chamber Executive Director; Dave Killips, Retired Superintendent, Chelsea SchoolsAfter 34 years in education, 10 of them as the Superintendent in the Chelsea Schools, Dave Killips retired in June of this year.  One of the most active superintendents in Washtenaw County, he served on the Chelsea Community Hospital Board of Trustees, and was instrumental in navigating the merger with St. Joe’s.  He also was on the board of The Silver Maples of Chelsea and was an active Rotary member.
