Two decades with the Ann Arbor Police Department followed heading up Eastern Michigan University’s Public Safety Department have poised Greg O’Dell for his next challenge as UM’s new Public Safety Director.  He talks about changes he plans on making, including more community outreach and getting more cops walking campus on foot.  His biggest challenge right now, though, is finding the predator behind a number of campus area sexual assaults.

Deb Kern, Humane Society of Huron Valley:  Pet of the Week 
– This week’s Pet of the Week is Leon Sunner Red Bone, a sweet, goofy guy who was found as a stray and brought to HSHV to find his furever home. He’s a 5 year old red Hound mix. Leon will need a quiet, low-key home without any small children and a family that will have the time to help slowly introduce him to new places and people. He’ll also need some help with training, and HSHV offers affordable training classes at the shelter & he would love to go to with you! With a little patience and lots of love, this sweet guy is sure to make one lucky family a fabulous companion!

Jeanine Jahant, Chairmember, Old St. Patrick Labor Day Weekend Festival:  This year marks the 180th anniversary of the oldest English-speaking Catholic Church in the state of Michigan, Old St. Pat’s on Whitmore Lake Road north of Ann Arbor.  It also is the 35th anniversary of St., Pat’s Labor Day Festival.  Jeanine Jahant says the Kielbasa Kings, a Grand Prize Raffle of $5,000, and delicious food are just the start of a great weekend.
